J&J Sets a New Standard for Chronic Disease Treatment
Johnson & Johnson just released major new clinical data that could change how psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is treated.
Long-term results from the Phase 3b APEX study (presented November 17th) show that TREMFYA® (guselkumab) is currently the only IL-23 inhibitor proven to significantly slow structural joint damage in active PsA.

The big takeaway: TREMFYA reduced the rate of joint damage progression by 57% for patients who switched from placebo—and this protection held strong through 48 weeks.
This matters because PsA isn’t just joint pain. It’s a chronic inflammatory condition tied to fatigue, obesity, and cardiovascular risk.
A drug that preserves joint structure gives patients a real shot at protecting long-term function and quality of life.
J&J is now seeking FDA approval to update the drug label, which could set a new expectation for PsA treatment: joint preservation, not just symptom relief.
